What are your hours of Operation?

My Home Away From Home Child care is open 24 hours 7 days a week.

Are we open during school vacations and/or snow days?

Yes, we are still open during school vacation and snow days. 

Do we provide lunches? 

Yes, as well as breakfast and snacks.

Do you have CPR and first-aid training?

Yes. I am certified in CPR and First Aid.

Are you peanuts free?

No, but we are very cautious if there is a peanut allergy. 

Would you mind if I plan a surprise visit to my child?

We are parent-friendly. We welcome parents visit anytime. However, we advise parents to avoid visit during nap time/ quite time from 12pm to 2:30pm.

 

How many children do you have?

We are licensed for 8 children within 24 hours day.

Is your home insurance extended to cover the daycare’s children?

Yes. Our home insurance is extended to cover 8 additional children attending our child care in our home.

 

Does my child have to be toilet learned?

No.  We help with potty training.

 

What is your sick policy?

Children who are sick require close attention and care.  If your child shows symptoms such as:  Fever, Diarrhea, vomiting, unexplained rash, pink eye etc. we ask that you keep your child at home until he/she is symptom free for 24 hours.  If a child becomes ill while they are at school, the child’s parents will be called immediately and asked to pick up their child.

 

Do you do any fundraising for the child care?

Yes.

What do I need to bring for my child?

Change of clothes, If needed, diapers, wipes, formula and baby care items.

How can I feel secure in knowing that my child is well taken care of and that they had a good day?

Communication is a major factor. Open rapport between parent, staff and supervisor ensure that we are working together to make the children feel happy, safe and secure throughout their day. Observation and constant monitoring allow the staff to take note of any concerns or changes in a child’s behavior, mood or physical appearance. These concerns are communicated to the parent and they feel secure in knowing that their children are cared for on an ongoing basis.

What is your child guidance policy?

We focus on redirecting children to more appropriate behaviors. The specific approaches used will vary depending on the age group. Approaches that are not used include physical punishment (spankings etc), withdrawal of needs such as food, verbal abuse (shouting), and time-outs.

Do you have police clearance?

Yes! Parents may view a police clearance and background check of both myself and husband. 

What kind of payment plans do you offer?

A fee schedule can be worked out weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.

 Do you charge a fee for late payment?

Yes, all payments are due in advance of child care services.  A late fee of $10.00 per day (including weekends) will be charged for late payments.  If your fee schedule is for the 1st of each month.  Please do not wait until the 5th to make payment.  Try to image if your work did not pay you on the time.

 

Do I pay even if my child is not at child care?

Yes, you are paying for a contracted space, not on your child’s attendance.
